Privacy Policy
Short version: No third-party tracking SDKs. No advertising. No data sold. Email addresses on the waitlist are used only to email you about Atika. Backend user data (when the apps launch) is on Supabase in the EU with row-level security.
1. What we collect
1.1 On the website (atika.app)
If you sign up for the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
- The country page you signed up from (Greece or Israel)
- The language version you used (English, Greek, or Hebrew)
- The timestamp of your signup
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally-identifiable information. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking.
1.2 In the apps (when they launch)
When the iOS apps launch, we will collect:
- Precise location, for the map and proximity alerts. Used on-device for free and Pass tiers; transmitted to our backend only for Pro proximity-alert features and only with explicit opt-in.
- Account email, if you create an account (optional)
- User-generated content, check-ins, reviews, saved lists you create in the app
- Device identifiers (anonymized), for crash reporting and basic usage analytics
2. What we don't collect
- We don't collect your name, address, phone number, or other personal information beyond what's listed above
- We don't track you across other apps or websites
- We don't use advertising SDKs of any kind
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
3. How we use what we collect
- Email address (waitlist): to send you Atika updates, at most one email per month, plus launch announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Location (in-app): only to power the map and proximity alerts. Never shared with third parties.
- Crash reports: to identify and fix bugs. Anonymized.
- User-generated content: stored in your account so you can access your check-ins and reviews across devices.
4. Where data is stored
Backend user data (when applicable) is stored on Supabase in EU regions, with row-level security ensuring users can only access their own data. Email addresses for the waitlist are stored with our email provider (Buttondown, ConvertKit, or similar, disclosed at signup).
5. Your rights
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for any data processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. Cookies
The website does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or any non-essential purpose. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies.
7. Third-party services
We use the following third parties to operate the service:
- Email provider (waitlist + transactional emails), Buttondown or ConvertKit
- Analytics, Plausible Analytics (privacy-respecting, no cookies)
- Hosting, GitHub Pages (website), Supabase (backend)
- App distribution, Apple App Store
Each operates under its own privacy policy. None receive your data for advertising purposes.
8. Children's privacy
Atika is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be emailed to subscribers and announced on the website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
